The CIBSE YEN Chairs Conference is an annual event, this year being hosted in London. Chairs and Vice-chairs from CIBSE Young Engineers Network regions across the UK, Ireland and Hong Kong will gather for the meeting. I have the great pleasure of chairing the conference for the second time.

In November 2017 I presented a pre-dinner speech at the 2017 CIBSE UAE Region Dinner. As the chair of the network, I was honoured to be representing CIBSE YEN as a whole network, and also as a member of the delegation which gathered in the UAE for the second CIBSE YEN Global Conference. I used the speech as an opportunity share highlights of CIBSE YEN's week in the UAE, and to thank those who made the trip possible.

This year I have the pleasure of chairing the CIBSE Young Engineers Network's annual chairs conferenc in Manchester.
This event has been organised by BIM Regions London. As a presenter I will be discussing my experiences as a Building Services Engineer working on BIM projects. The speakers will be sharing our thoughts on the why, what and how of BIM. The event also includes a chaired Q&A session and the opportunity to network.

The CIBSE YEN Chairs Interim meeting for 2016 took place in the afternoon ahead of the CIBSE YEN National Ball. As the Vice-Chair of the network I supported the meeting, chairing a breakout session.
In collaboration with London South Bank University, CIBSE YEN London hosted an event on the future of using digital technology to replace paper use in offices. I was proud to introduce the speakers. The event was covered on London South Banks website as well as reviewed on CIBSE YEN London event journal. The event was the second YEN London to be filmed too.
A event format first for CIBSE YEN London - A Question Time style debate. I had the pleasure of being the Chair of the debate, posing questions to our panel and audience.
CIBSE YEN London's "BIM Bare Bones" was built around the idea that BIM is happening now, and is part of the daily workflow of young engineers already. During this event we will hear from Andrew Duncan, Casey Rutland and Charlie Murray about how their daily work involves BIM. We will see into a research project at Arup: Project OVE and a complex construction project where the contractor is using BIM to deliver the project.
An event covering three bases - a practical seminar on the selection of air distribution products, delivered by Trox, an overview of the various national and international certifications to quantify and demonstrate green buildings and a post-presentation networking session with refreshments.
