Review: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

8/12/18 // No spoilers // “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” hits cinemas in the UK from 14th December with pre-release showings happening this weekend. I got to see the film at my local cinema this evening and wow, just wow! It was incredible!

The film’s opening title sequence is really cool, and really grabs your attention. The animation style(s) are fantastic, and is just how you imagine comic book action would be in motion. It’s bright, bold and colourful with every scene a joy to watch. I particularly liked the changes in animation style, colour palette and use of comic book features on a scene by scene basis to suit the characters and the feel of the scene. Action sequences in this film are fast, make clever use of the characters powers and are incredibly well animated, and with funny moments too.

Music is woven into the fabric of the film, and the score and songs in the film really fit with the on screen action and help convey the characters emotions and help set the pace of the film. The story of Miles Morales was very well written.

Without spoilers there’s not much more I can say. I would recommend this film to comic book fans, spider-man fans and anyone who enjoys fun action films.

I can certainly recommend booking your tickets now!

My Film Review Score: 10/10

I don’t normally review films on my site, but this film really impressed me! Same thing happened with the Arctic Monkeys album earlier this year, just a one off album review.
